Dr. Julia A. Shalit

Dr. Julia Alex Shalit earned her dental degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She has done postgraduate research in the area of Planned Genetics, and was asked to serve part-time on the faculty while still a student. She has also done research for the Oral Health Institute on the use of lasers in the early detection of cavities. Dr. Shalit has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Purdue University.

Dr. Julia has been dedicated to excellence and lifelong learning for her entire career as a dentist. She has completed postgraduate studies in aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry, the use of porcelain veneers, and the Invisalign system of invisible braces. Dr. Julia has also completed courses in laser dentistry, allowing her to use modern dental lasers to treat both tooth decay and perform gum surgery, often without the need for shots or drilling. She is constantly evaluating technology for items, which can make your family's dental procedures less invasive and less painful.

Dr. Julia and her husband, Felix, have a beautiful child, Alec. In her spare time, Dr. Shalit enjoys painting, dancing and playing the piano.
